O’Blù

An urban interactive installation of light and sound in memory of Pino Daniele

An unusual stringed musical instrument extends between two elements that are part of the urban furniture of Piazzetta Caetani, in front of the docks of Formia.
Between a tree and a lamppost five illuminated strings invite the viewer to make them vibrate.

An audiovisual work lived thanks to public intervention in the context of an artistic event, conceived with Kristian Franzini, Councilor for Tourism and Economic Development, which involved the entire district of the historic center of Formia and the characteristic alley of Via Abate Tosti thanks to live concerts and installations dedicated to the famous Neapolitan singer-songwriter on the anniversary of the five years since his death.

The strings stretched in the center of the square allowed to play sound environments in real time and to remix the song “A me me piace ‘o blues” by Pino Daniele in its original mastering which took place properly in the city of Formia. At the same time the action of the participants colored the former school building of the square with visual textures in the form of cords presenting ancestral signs inscribed on them, to recall the strings and “codes” of harmony and music, a universal language of peace .

A work dedicated to the memory of Pino Daniele, author who in Formia has expressed some of the greatest melodies of his entire artistic production.
